juan j. asencio

Juan José ASENCIO (b. 1946, Mayarí): Asencio works primarily with metal. He is known for his innovative casting
techniques and for the creation of patinas that have become a trademark of
his work.

Asencio had a long and distinguished career, including teaching at the Chicago Institute of Art and creating numerous public installations, especially in Chicago.

His work is every bit the quality and artistic accomplishment of works by Botero and a great compliment to the mid-century household alongside creations by Fantoni, Gambone, Prouve,& Omar Ray
