José Luis Molina was born in San Diego Cesar, Colombia.
Studied in the Escuela de Bellas Artes del Cesar.
He simultaneously studied Communitarian and Social Psychology at the Universidad Abierta y a Distancia (UNAD)
,
Molina has been awarded degrees in fine arts and literature (poetry).
1998. won the First Place in the Salón del Artista Joven (Young Artists exhibition) of School Bellas Artes
1999 The Banco de La República chose him in for the exhibition “Artistas del Cesar”.
2000 some of his works were part of the traveling exhibition “Imagen Caribe” (Caribbean image);
2000 received the First Mention of the exhibition “Artistas Costeños” (Colombian Atlantic Coast Artists) of the Chamber of Commerce of Barranquilla.
2000 selected by “Fundación Festival Vallenato” to exhibit in honor of the late minister of culture, Consuelo Araujo Noguera, killed by the FARC.
2004 “Noches de Colombia” (Colombian nights)-One Man Show- in the Brazilian embassy in Colombia
2005 the same exhibition is sponsored by the Argentinean embassy in Colombia at Bohnekamp Y Revale gallery.
2006, “Colombia es arte”- exhibits his works throughout Colombia.
2009 -2010 “Latin American Art Today”- Naples Museum of Art—works on loan from Cremata Gallery
At present, José Luis Molina lives in Valledupar and he combines his artistic activity with his work as a teacher at Universidad del Cesar.
